Happy Summer Solstice

June 21st is the Summer Solstice for those of us north of the equator, in the Northern Hemisphere. Today is June 21st,‎ the longest day of the year, and it is Monday, and Mondays, following the Weekends. always seem to be the longest days of the week. Summer begins. Summer is the fun time of the year. The sun invites us outside to enjoy the day light, and to look and to see what miserable stewards of the earth we are. The air is dirty, and the rivers are polluted, and so much of land is eroding and being wind blown away.

And then is the Gulf and BP. The sun says to us in America, "Take a good hard look, in the bright daylight, you bastards!" And the sun should say to BP, "You rotten, no good bastards!"

Anyway, the longest day of the year means that the earth tilts on her axis, that the days will begin to get shorter and winter has started on its way back around, and there will be less people outdoors to see how poorly we are treating our earth.

Happy Summer Solstice.
