Associated Press --"With a startling report some researchers call more spin than science, the government said Wednesday the mess made by the BP oil spill in the Gulf is mostly gone already. Out of sight, though, doesn't mean out of danger." See the video.
When that federal agency (FDA) put out its smell test, like in if a fish doesn't smell bad, it's okay to eat, so fishermen could go back to work, and the fish could go onto the marketplace, they lost me. Now the NOAA, (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), another federal agency, has put out a report that sounds like pure spin to me -- spinning in hyper overdrive. The government said yesterday that BP's big mess is mostly cleaned up / rather most of the oil that BP's busted well gushed, (hundreds of millions of gallons of crude), into the Gulf is mostly gone, and already.
Who do they take America for? A little child, trusting with her little eyes closed, and no peeking? Her government tells her: We are going to take care of this problem, with magic. Let your government wave a magic wand and presto!
You don't smell any oil do you? See any oil on the water? On the fish, do you? A little of tech and chemo magic and amazing stuff! Again, you don't see any oil, do you? On the surface of the water, right, dear?
Well America, the government is saying, my little dears, don't you believe in magic? Trust us, the bad stuff is gone /going/ mostly gone already. And so my little children, the great big bad danger is over, just a little mopping up to do, nothing seriously. As for those researchers and scientists, who are saying that the toxins from the chemical dispersants have entered the food chain, and that there are still hundred of millions of gallons of crude oil lurking under the surface, the government is saying: My dears, don't listen to them, and if there is toxin found, it will be a slight tiny trace of toxin, don't mind that.
