What is Summer News Without Paris?

Paris Hilton has been arrested again, and she is out on bail. The charge is powered cocaine possession. The buzz across America and the gossipy world is: Will Paris Be Going Back to Jail?

My response is: What for? Paris is only being Paris.. She is America's premier naughty princess. What are you going to do America? Spank her? Please!

The Associated Press reports on America's naughty princess' explanation to the police:for the content of her alleged purse, which, according to the Vegas police, included a small bag of white powder. Princess Paris said -- quote the AP -- "The rolling papers, $1,300 in cash and several credit cards were hers, but not the purse they were in. And definitely not the bag of white powder that fell out of it." See the video.

End of Days for Skype - GMAIL Offers Free Phone Calling via VOIP

Add Comment

Oh the drama! Gmail, Google's free mail provider is now offering free phone calls using VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and it is doing so for FREE (Us / Canada) - at least through the end of the year. I can think of no other time when the saying (it is a saying, right?) "what a tangled web we weave..." can be be applied any better. The new Google Voice (Chat) feature being offered may literally kill Skype in on fell swoop. Google may take the entire VOIP market right out from under them and anyone else who gets in their way.

Add Comment

What a deal! I had to write about this "Monday Madness" promotion with Meritline. You can get 7 different fruit shaped note paper packs for under $5.00 - with FREE SHIPPING! You must use coupon code MLCK413FRUIT083068NL1 (for First 1000 Orders). Just copy and paste the coupon into the "Coupon Code" field during checkout - you will see the discount taken before proceeding and finalizing your order. If you are only interested in one or a few of these that is fine, too (The cost per item is $0.69 with the coupon) - but the coupon will only take the discount (bringing the price to $0.69 per item) on one of each item. If you order more than one of each the $0.69 price will only apply to one of them with the remainder at $2.15 (which is still not a bad price).

Symbolism: The Pres drops in

Add Comment

President Obama must like take-out, or photo ops at take-out joints, for he is often getting his picture taken, and his image captured on news video, showing him dropping in on unsuspecting ordinary Americans, during chow time. He drops in, orders and goes, except for that time he dropped-in a restaurant with the Pres of Russia, as his guest, and like two camera loving hams, they ate in.

No, I'm not being critical. It is somehow reassuring to see the leaders moving around among ordinary people and doing ordinary things. Restaurant visits remind the people that the leaders are people too.

Well, they are; they have to eat.

Yesterday, Sunday, Mr. Obama was in New Orleans to deliver a Katrina post five years speech and to show himself in a city, suffering under the effects of the Gulf Coast oil spill disaster.

Interview with Clothing Sales Clerk

Add Comment

Every time my family and I went to the mall, we used to visit our friend Penelope* at the clothing store where she worked. Though she no longer works at this store, she has fond memories from working there. Here she shares some thoughts about the sales industry.

What was an average day like for you?

Usually, when I got there, if there was an item you had to push or was your topic item—each person had their own—you had to suggest it to customers. If someone would buy shorts, you’d suggest a shirt. It was pretty much suggesting items and straightening up whatever section you were in charge of. You had to make it look like it looked in the book, as nice and neat as you could and that was it. Then I’d take a break!

What was the hardest part of your job?

The Bloom Box

Add Comment

The Bloom Box -- The same people who brought the world evolutionary change in communications, Internet related technology and applications, are backing this evolutionary change in energy production. I think we are going to have an amazing tomorrow.

The Bloom Box: sounds like the energy breakthrough of the 21st century. It is "a new kind of fuel cell, which is like a very skinny battery that always runs.Oxygen is (fed) to it on one side, and fuel on the other. The two combine within the cell to create a chemical reaction that produces electricity. There's no need for burning or combustion, and no need for power lines from an outside source."

The Bloom Box is ones own home backyard plug-in power plant, very futuristic. The beta customers say it works and saves them money?

I'm back from vacation!

Great AmericaGreat AmericaWhere have I been?  Out of town.  We brought our daughter's laptop computer, as it's the newest one in the house, not knowing we couldn't post messages from it.  I'm sure if we had taken time to sit down and figure out why, we could have solved the problem.  But we didn't have time to mess with the computer.

We headed down to a place called Angels Camp, CA, just southeast of Sacramento.  My sweet cousin and her husband let us use their timeshare and it was wonderful!  Did I do well at staying on my eating plan?  Well, yes, and no.
